Practicing Gratitude

Sixteen years ago today...

I married a man who is still my best friend.

I'm thankful he knows so well how to love and care for me in ways that make me FEEL loved, cared-for, protected.

And that he's patient with me while I flounder along, still learning how to do the same for him. You'd think after 16 years, that'd be easy by now.

I'm thankful that when I look back, all I remember is the good.  I know we had rough patches, but they have been few and far between.

I'm thankful he loves making breakfast for the family on Saturday mornings (or on weeknights when I'm too tired/sick/lazy to cook!), that he surprises me sometimes with fresh-baked cookies after a day at work, and that he's willing to vacuum, tidy the house, and wash dishes whenever I need the help.

I'm SO thankful he's my "remote start" every morning.  He seriously runs outside to the garage, no matter the weather, to start my van and pull it out of the garage on work mornings so that it's nice and warmed up for me by the time I need to leave.

I have been blessed with a wonderful husband.

Happy anniversary, Man!  I LOVE YOU.

Oh, and happy Valentine's Day to everyone else!

I remember going to your wedding on our 1st Valentine's Day after getting married :) Greg has no excuse to forget your anniversary, does he?! Ha ha.

Praying for God's continued blessings on your marriage.
