Sunday, January 15th was a blizzard day here last winter. Church was cancelled and everything. So after a big, leisurely breakfast and some game-playing, The Man and the girls went off to watch some TV, and I decided to give this idea a whirl.
I like the idea of just writing a sentence or two about each day, rather than keeping a journal. Somehow, it seemed more likely that I'd actually do it if it was just a sentence or two.
Amazingly, I HAVE! There have been two occasions where the box has been moved from its customary place for whatever reason, and as a result, it's been forgotten for a period of a few weeks, but other than that, I've faithfully recorded something every single day. After those "missing" weeks, I go back through my calendars and day planners and can usually fill in most of the days, but there are some blank ones. Let's face it though, there are a lot of days where the line might as well be blank ~ you know, days like "Church in a.m.; normal Sunday afternoon at home." Or "The Man at work, girls at school, me at home. Like usual." Not exactly riveting stuff!
It's been a fun exercise though, and I'm looking forward to cycling through the box, year after year, and seeing what happened in our family and in our home on any given day in previous years.

So, every year you write on the same card for that date? Cool idea!
That sounds like a really neat idea!! And congrats to you for sticking with it!
