So, didja miss me?? I didn't really forget last week, but by the time I remembered, I just didn't have the time or energy to crank out a post. This post, too, is being written VERY last-minute. (When I really should be doing something else!!)
I'm thankful for work. But it definitely cuts into my leisure time, that's for sure! It's only a 25-hr work week, but it's amazing how little time I feel like I get at home now. I shuffled things around a little so instead of working five hours every day, I will generally have Wednesdays off, and I am hoping, after a couple more weeks, that one full day at home will help me feel like I'm staying on top of things. (yesterday was not terribly productive, I'll admit!) I'm so grateful for an employer who is very willing to try and accommodate me as best he can.
I'm thankful for Mack, who was once my tiny, stunted, li'l 6-1/2 week preemie and is, as of TODAY, a very lean and lanky ELEVEN year old! Man, I can't believe she's that old already. I'm grateful for the personality she has, the beautiful young lady she's developing into, and especially her concern for the spiritual welfare of everyone she loves. I wish I was more like her. I am praying she never loses that, and never bows under societal pressures to be quiet about her faith and desire to serve God. Happy birthday, my strong, sweet girl! I love you.
I'm thankful for my woodstove. More so this week than most others. Man, it has been COLD. I wouldn't say it's actually been news-worthy, being nothing worse than what we get virtually every winter, but it was a rather sudden cold snap that's lasted the week and isn't expected to change for another day or two yet. But our woodstove keeps the house nice and toasty. In fact, yesterday I had the luxury of being able to legitimately complain that the house was too hot. (it's very tough to regulate woodstove heat!) I'm a blessed woman to have that problem when our low outdoor temps are making the news.
I hope all y'all are staying warm these days, and finding many things to be thankful for, too!

I love how you always find ways to express thanks. And I love that sweet precious little lady having a birthday today. Love you all so much. Take care.
I was just saying last night how I think before next winter I would like to get a small woodburner. I bought this used trailer and didn't realize how much work it needed. Its been pretty cold in here and that will be changed before next winter. I miss a woodburner. I love to be toasty :).
Happy birthday to your girl! She sounds like a sweet young lady.
I enjoyed reading your post. Have a happy day!

I love our wood fire place and am amazed how warm it is! It's sure come in handy when the electricity has gone out. Enjoyed all your wonderful thanks. Bless you!
What a blessing your daughter sounds like! I have all boys. My oldest sons birthday is Saturday.
We had a wood stove growing up. I didn't like it at the time, but boy I wish we had one now. Have a great evening!
I have to say - I'm jealous of your job!! A flexible OFFICE job that you can do in the winter/spring and then be home for summer (at least that's still the plan right?) - sounds perfect!
Ooooh~ I love those snuggly shoes in the last picture... I'll bet those keep your footsies warm!
I love our wood stove too... even though it's never as cold as it is there it still helps to save a lot on our heat bill.
Happy Birthday, Mack~ you are turning into a very pretty young lady right before our eyes! :)
