I realized today that in all the months and years I've been blogging, I've never once joined a photo challenge. I participated in Wordless Wednesdays for quite a while and hosted a Forgotten Foto Friday thing for a few months last year, but never anything DAILY. And certainly never anything where the photographs were pre-selected by someone else!
Until now.
This daily photo challenge isn't unique by any means ~ just another list of things to photograph, one for each day of the month in July. But I'm doing it this time, that's what's new! ;)
Day 1's assignment was a photo of a maple leaf. I didn't snap any maple leaf pictures over the weekend, but I take over as church secretary for the summer months and here's a screen shot of the bulletin cover for yesterday's service:
The words are a little fuzzy here in the screen print, but they're the fourth verse of our national anthem...
Ruler Supreme, Who hearest humble prayer,
Hold our dominion in Thy loving care.
Help us to find, O God, in Thee,
A lasting, rich reward.
As waiting for the better day,
We ever stand on guard.
God keep our land Glorious and free!
O Canada! We stand on guard for thee.
O Canada! We stand on guard for thee.
Today's assignment is a street. Now, we don't have many "streets" around here ~ at least, not what I think of as streets. We do mile roads in my neck of the woods! And here's one of my favourite ones, taken on Saturday. (I know, it's supposed to be TAKEN ON THE ASSIGNED DAY, but I'm starting this challenge a little on the late side, so you'll have to forgive me. I'll stick to the rules from here on in, I promise! As it so happens, it actually looks pretty much the same this afternoon!!)
Tomorrow's assignment: LUNCH! Wanna play along?? Click the button at the top of the post to visit the hostess.

I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE seeing your photos and so having you join in this will be such a treat!
Great photos...I love your "street" and think it is perfect.
I also love your street. it's better than all the construction streets I have to choose from!
Yay, I get to see more of your photos! I may have to join this challenge; it sounds interesting.
Enjoyed your pictures! I'm also our church secretary - I'll have to file that poem away for next summer. Very appropriate.
And LOVE your street picture. Much like the "street" I live on, but I wasn't home to photograph it. Looking forward to seeing more!
